Munson Machinery Co., Utica, N.Y., has modified its Mini Mixer, a lab/pilot version of the company’s larger rotary batch blenders, to allow compounders to work with nano-additives without wasting much of the costly dust. The Mini Mixer handles 0.25 to 15 ft3 batches. A new infeed chute swivels for cleaner feeding and has a shroud to collect nano-dust for reuse (and keep the lab cleaner.) A new discharge chute like the one on Munson’s larger mixers replaces a plug gate, which had allowed material to spill. A new, lighter frame reduces cost and machine footprint.
